About Body Builders Automotive
Body Builders Automotive has served Rolling Meadows, Chicago's Northwest Suburbs, and the greater Chicagoland area for more than 40 years. Brothers Michael and Patrick Phillippi opened the doors in 1984 with a small garage and a philosophy they refused to compromise on: tell the customer the truth, fix the vehicle the right way the first time, and never assume you've learned everything there is to know.
Four decades later, those three rules still decide how the shop operates — and they're the reason it looks nothing like the garage it started in. Body Builders Automotive now runs a state-of-the-art 20,000-square-foot facility in Rolling Meadows, where decades of hands-on craftsmanship meet today's most advanced collision repair technology. That growth was deliberate. CEO Maria Quintero, who has been with the company for more than half its history, has set its direction — the move into the current facility, the investment in equipment and ongoing training, and the systems that keep the work consistent at this scale. "The right way" has never meant the fastest way. It means the way that puts a safe vehicle back in your driveway, and as vehicles get more complex, it takes real investment to keep meaning that.
Every repair here starts with a plan. Joseph Phillippi, Michael's eldest son and the second generation of the founding family, writes the blueprint — a complete repair plan built at teardown that identifies every operation the vehicle actually needs before a single panel is ordered. It's the difference between a repair that stalls halfway through and one that moves. From there, Shop Coordinator Matt Giebehlausen keeps production moving and every vehicle on schedule. Both have built their careers in this shop.
From a minor dent to a complex structural repair, every vehicle gets the same thing from this team: the correct procedure, done completely, verified before it leaves the building.
